The Situation

Voxeleron had a strong product in a narrow frame. Orion ran on a single desktop in a single clinic, unifying OCT data across device vendors and applying machine learning to ophthalmic images — genuine technical depth, confined to one machine at a time.

The opportunity was moving elsewhere. Ophthalmic clinical research was consolidating around CROs, reading centers and life-sciences sponsors who needed imaging data managed across many sites at once, under the security and audit expectations of regulated trials. Orion could not follow them there.

The Solution

We partnered with Voxeleron to take its ophthalmic imaging technology beyond the desktop and build the cloud platform needed to serve a new market: CROs, reading centers and life-sciences organizations conducting clinical trials.

Voxeleron's existing Orion product already solved a difficult imaging problem, providing a unified experience for OCT data from multiple device vendors and applying sophisticated machine-learning techniques to ophthalmic images. iNebula extended that foundation into a centralized, cloud-native platform where imaging workflows and data could be managed across clinical-trial sites and organizations.

The result was not simply a web version of Orion, but a new platform designed around the scale, collaboration, security and operational needs of modern ophthalmology research.

Results

  • Acquired by Voiant to expand its ophthalmology capabilities
  • 100× increase in customer acquisition
  • SOC-2 and HIPAA compliance achieved
  • Full cloud-native platform, still running today
  • Presented at ARVO, the leading vision research conference

Celteeka has been Voxeleron's technology partner for over 4 years, and the engagement is ongoing.

Services Provided

Celteeka has been Voxeleron's technology partner since November 2021 and still is. We were tasked with creating a cloud-native web platform called iNebula, to serve as the backbone for Contract Research Organizations (CROs), migrating their existing desktop application (Orion) into a modern and scalable web-based solution. This project is ongoing.
